Why Star P.A.K.?

Star P.A.K. (Performing Arts Kids) is my musical theatre group for kids starting at age 5. Let me tell you, these kids love to play theatre games.

One of our favorite games involves a large blue trunk overflowing with different hats. The grouping of the colorful headwear inside the blue trunk represents fifty or more occupations and careers. The kids love donning their favorite hats, walking on stage and becoming different people.

Sophie becomes royalty, Joshua a train engineer; Brittany a cowgirl and Daniel an adventurous sea captain.

Grace is a famous actress on her way to walk the red carpet. Jimmy is headed to the jungles of Africa to save a baby lion from certain death.

I love watching them create a character with pretend names and imaginary scenarios. In addition, enjoy how they love the applause from their peers after a simple three-minute acting exercise…, which to them is an opening night performance!

In today’s harsh reality of life, some children need a way to escape. Statistics reports children carry more stress and pressure than ever before in our nation’s history.

I am so glad Star P.A.K. offers a fun escape through theatre games and role-playing. Some of the scenes keep me laughing long after the class is over. There is such a creative freedom when children use their imaginations.

I have the best job in the world!

“Oh! Teach us to live well! Teach us to live wisely and well! Surprise us with love at daybreak; then we will skip and dance all the daylong. Make up for the bad times with some good times; we have seen enough evil to last a lifetime. Let your servants see what you are best at— the ways you rule and bless your children. Moreover, let the loveliness of our Lord, our God, rest on us, confirming the work that we do. Oh, yes. Affirm the work that we do!” Psalm 90:12 (The Message)
